The Assistant Accountant is a key member of the Finance team supporting GAP and GMG. This role is responsible for delivering accurate and timely property accounting, managing lease administration processes, ensuring compliance with tax obligations, and assisting with capital and treasury management activities. The position also contributes to the execution of ad hoc finance projects, providing administrative and analytical support to maintain operational efficiency and compliance.
Day to Day:
Completion of customer lease set ups, assignments, surrenders and vacations and other lease administration tasks
Monthly maintenance of building and customer details in Yardi.
Preparation of bank reconciliations, receipting of customer payments, arrears management and contributing to the weekly payment run
Assistance with the preparation of month-end property accounting and reconciliations, including posting journals, raising invoices and coding of supplier payments where required.
Assistance with the review and analysis of net property income and outgoings reconciliations.
Monthly rent roll review and preparation.
Actualisation of cash flow forecast models, maintenance of inter-company loan reconciliations and responsible for settling loan amounts as required.
Assistance with arranging coding and payment of invoices and credit cards.
Responsible for the filing and maintenance of all documents and records relating to the Partnerships.
Other ad-hoc duties as required to assist the team.
Assistance with the preparation and collation of support documentation for half yearly and annual reporting across the Partnerships.
Preparation, lodgement and payment of Business Activity Statements.
Assist in maintaining the Land Tax and Council rates registers.
Updating of fixed assets registers in a timely and accurate manner.
