Assistant Accountant

We're looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our Corporate Finance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent accounting graduate or an early-career accountant who is looking to build a strong foundation in corporate finance within a large, supportive organisation.

Working closely with a hands-on Finance Manager and a collaborative finance team, you'll gain exposure to month-end reporting, financial analysis, budgeting, reconciliations and process improvement, while developing your technical and commercial accounting skills.

As an Assistant Accountant, you'll support the delivery of accurate and timely financial information for I-MED's Corporate business unit.

You'll play an important role in ensuring financial integrity, supporting business decision-making, and contributing to the ongoing success of Australia's largest diagnostic imaging network.

In this role, you will:

• Month-end close activities, including journals, accruals and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare financial reports, analysis and commentary on monthly results.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Raise invoices and assist with bank reconciliations.
• Monitor financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal controls.
• Partner with stakeholders across Finance and Corporate teams to provide financial support and insights.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and finance projects.
• Support the Finance Manager with ad hoc reporting and analysis.

We're looking for someone who is motivated to learn, enjoys working with numbers, and has strong attention to detail.

You'll bring:

• 1-2 years of working experience, either in a similar role or Big 4 Accounting firm
• A Bachelor degree in Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline.
• Progress towards CA or CPA.
• Accounting experience within a healthcare setting would be an advantage but not essential.
• Strong Communications Skills. Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• A willingness to learn and develop within a high-performing finance team.
