Job Overview

Responsible for providing services to assigned clients.

Responsible for carrying out the execution of conformity assessment activities in accordance with the applicable technical procedures, codes and standards or process instructions in a professional manner within the limitations of their authorizations.

Interacting with clients, exploring new business opportunities and assist in new contracts and proposals.

Must be able to apply business understanding and technical skill to process, analyze information, and complete assigned objectives and/or procedures.

Job Duties And Roles

1.

Perform and/or verify acceptance of all conformity assessment activities delineated by the applicable Apave processes.

2.

Confirm the calibration status of equipment utilized is to the requirements of Apave procedures or demonstrated as having the equivalent of these accreditation certifications.

3.

Keep himself updated on the requirements of international codes and standards relevant to the assessments.

4.

Must also verify that the test facility equipment operators have had sufficient and sound training, satisfactory knowledge of the requirements of the tests, adequate experience in such testing and the ability to draw up and document clearly recording the results of the test.

5.

The Assessor shall monitor the implementation of the client’s accepted Quality Control System Manual on a scheduled basis as required by the company, and document the results of such monitoring, in accordance with the company’s established requirements.

6.

Notify the assigned Supervisor verbally and in writing of any problems encountered in obtaining compliance, at any assigned client facility.

7.

Attend the client’s facility, as scheduled, in a timely fashion.

8.

Maintain the applicable Conformity Assessment record in compliance with all applicable “Inspector & Supervisor Duties” identified.

9.

Complete and or participate in all training assignments, (correspondence or other forms of training), as directed by the designated authorized manager.

10.

Perform all the duties as defined in ASME & NB Manual related with Authorized Inspection Agency program.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required (KSAR)

1.

Familiar with quality system requirements of international standard ISO 9001.

2.

Familiar with Apave quality system procedures.

3.

Needs to have working knowledge of the Apave Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental Management System and PED Program procedures.

4.

Have knowledge of material testing techniques and laboratory procedures and the requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories.

5.

Have process training certification in all applicable process instructions, authorized by the designated Manager.

6.

Possess a comprehensive knowledge of the applicable pressure equipment Codes & standards required for the performance of Inspector Duties, at assigned client locations.

E.g.

ASME Codes Sections I to XIII, NBIC, PED etc.

7.

Must be a motivated self-starter and work without direct supervision.

8. Maintain physical stature, as necessary to comply with Fitness for Duty requirements, as may be imposed by clients controlling access to restricted or safety related areas. (i.e., presence of facial hair shall not restrict the sealing ability of personal protective devices (respirators), etc; must continuously pass drug and alcohol screening when required, whether random or scheduled, and must be able to walk long distances, climb stairs, scaffolding, and ladders. Must not have claustrophobia or acrophobia.

9.

Possess ability to monitor the client’s Quality Control System Manual and document results of same.

10.

Possess good oral and written communication skills.

Minimum years of Experience

Minimum 10 years’ experience in conformity assessment of pressure equipment and various engineered products.

Must have minimum 5 years’ experience out of the total experience in performing QA/ QC audits related to pressure equipment manufacturing.

Required And Preferred Education Requirements

Engineering degree/ diploma or recognized equivalent, preferable in Mechanical, Metallurgy, Production or equivalent industry experience.

Required And Preferred Professional Requirements

CSWIP 3.1 or equivalent, or ASME Authorized Inspector, SNT-TC-1A or PCN.

Familiar with pressure equipment in-process and final inspection technics and processes, and tools/ instruments used during inspection.

Preferably have attended and passed the QMS Lead Auditor (ISO 9001) training course preferably certified by IRCA (The International Register of Certificated Auditors) or equivalent, or a course recognized by a National Accreditation Body.

Familiar with audit principles, procedures and techniques and international standard ISO 19011: “Guidelines for quality and/or environmental management systems auditing”.
