What you'll do
- Build AI workflows for document intake, extraction, validation, reconciliation, and customer ERP write-back.
- Design prompts, schemas, and pipelines that convert messy financial documents into structured data controllers can rely on.
- Write evaluations, define ground truth, measure accuracy, and prevent regressions.
- Use coding agents to decompose work, run tasks in parallel, and review generated output with judgment.
- Take features from rough problem statements through design, implementation, testing, and production rollout.
- Work across Python, FastAPI, React, Next.js, and the workflow components between them.
- Debug production behavior on real customer data by tracing errors through extraction, matching, and posting.
- Feed customer and production learnings into shared components, better prompts, and faster deployments.
What we're looking for
- 2 to 3 years of experience building and shipping production software.
- Strong programming fundamentals, ideally in Python and TypeScript.
- Hands-on experience with LLM prompting, structured output, retrieval, tool use, agent loops, and evaluation.
- Daily, fluent use of coding agents and the ability to explain how generated work is verified.
- Evidence of independently initiated and shipped software.
- Comfort working with incomplete information and driving the right next step to completion.
- A high standard for correctness, especially for accounting data.
- Clear written communication and an appetite for difficult, focused work.
Nice to have
- Experience with document understanding, OCR, or information extraction from PDFs, scans, and spreadsheets.
- Experience building evaluation harnesses or benchmarks for LLM systems.
- Familiarity with FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, MySQL, Redis, and job queues.
- Familiarity with Next.js and React for internal or customer-facing interfaces.
- Exposure to finance, accounting, or ERP systems such as Oracle Fusion, SAP, NetSuite, or Tally.
- Open-source contributions, side projects, or independently built software.
