Anglo American / De Beers Group is seeking an Apprentice Diesel Mechanic to develop skills in maintaining and repairing heavy mining equipment. The role involves assisting with maintenance, learning fault-finding and diagnostic techniques, and supporting planned maintenance and breakdown repairs. A
Responsibilities
- Assist with the maintenance and repair of heavy mining equipment
- Learn fault-finding and diagnostic techniques
- Support planned maintenance, inspections and breakdown repairs
- Develop skills working on engines, hydraulics, powertrains, braking systems and mobile equipment
- Follow safe work practices and contribute to a positive safety culture
- Work collaboratively within a high-performing maintenance team
- Complete all apprenticeship training and study requirements
Requirements
- Genuine interest in mechanical equipment and how things work
- Reliable, motivated and eager to learn
- Strong commitment to safety
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Enjoy working as part of a team
- Hold a current Driver's Licence or are working towards obtaining one
- Finishing Year 12 this year and looking for your next career opportunity
