Application Engineering Specialist

The Regional Sales Enablement Center (RSEC) at Armstrong Fluid Technology operates as a strategic nexus of engineering expertise and commercial strategy.

The center's purpose is not to function as a direct sales force, but rather as a high-leverage engineering and technical support structure.

This structure empowers the frontline sales teams and external sales partners by equipping them with the deep technical analysis, system design, and value articulation necessary to win complex, high-value projects.

The RSEC is the critical link aligning Armstrong's world-class engineering capabilities with its global sales strategies.

Its mission is to ensure that every customer proposal is underpinned by the best possible technical solution—one that is optimized, energy-efficient, and delivers on Armstrong's core brand promise of sustainability, lowest lifecycle cost, and industry-leading performance.

Within this framework, the Application Engineering Specialist (AES) serves as the "technical engine" of the enablement process. This role is responsible for analyzing sophisticated customer requirements, interpreting complex mechanical plans, designing optimized hydronic systems, and articulating the financial and engineering benefits of Armstrong's solutions to technically sophisticated audiences, including consulting engineers, contractors, and facility end-users.

• Review HVAC design drawings, mechanical plans, and specifications to develop advanced hydronic system solutions using Armstrong's portfolio.
• Interpret and analyze control schematics, plumbing layouts, and P&ID diagrams to ensure optimal product selection and system integration.
• Support engineering firms and rep partners with system optimization recommendations (e.g., primary-secondary, variable flow, decoupled systems).
• Contribute technical insight on pump control strategies, delta-T optimization, sensor placement, and operating cost improvement.
• Use Armstrong’s selection tools (e.g., ADEPT) to generate technically sound proposals, energy models, and quotations.
• Ensure accurate configuration and documentation of proposed systems based on customer specifications and field conditions.
