About the Opportunity

This role offers the opportunity to design and deliver enterprise-grade APIs that power core banking systems, digital platforms, and third-party integrations.
You will play a key role in enabling seamless system connectivity and supporting large-scale digital banking transformation in the UAE.
Job Overview
We are looking for an API Integration Engineer to design, develop, and maintain secure and scalable API solutions across enterprise banking systems, digital channels, and external partners.
This role is key to enabling
real-time integration, API-led architecture, and digital transformation at scale
, while ensuring compliance with enterprise architecture and regulatory standards.
Api Design & Architecture
- Design scalable and secure API and integration architectures aligned with enterprise standards
- Define API governance, standards, and integration patterns
- Ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements
Api Development & Lifecycle
- Develop REST and SOAP APIs for banking and digital systems
- Manage full API lifecycle: design, build, test, deploy, version, and retire
- Manage APIs via API gateway platforms
Integration & Platform Management
- Support middleware and enterprise integration platforms
- Configure and manage API gateways (MuleSoft, Apigee, Kong or equivalent)
- Ensure system scalability, reliability, and performance
Security & Compliance
- Implement API security controls (authentication, authorization, encryption)
- Ensure compliance with banking regulations and IT security standards
- Support audit and governance requirements with proper documentation
Monitoring & Delivery
- Monitor API performance, availability, and SLA compliance
- Resolve integration issues and performance bottlenecks
- Work with cross-functional teams to deliver integration solutions
Preferred Qualifications & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
- 6–10 years of experience in API / Integration Engineering (banking preferred)
- Certifications in API management or cloud platforms (MuleSoft, Apigee, AWS, Azure) preferred
Preferred Skills
- Strong experience in REST and SOAP APIs
- API management and gateway platforms
- Middleware and enterprise integration patterns
- API security and cloud integration (AWS / Azure)
- Agile and DevSecOps exposure
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
