Responsibilities
- Apply actuarial and insurance expertise to develop, maintain, and improve commercial lines pricing plans for property, liability, agricultural, and/or commercial auto portfolios
- Research, extract, and analyze complex internal and external data while assessing data quality
- Support and execute rate reviews that improve segmentation and pricing updates
- Support achievement of commercial lines financial objectives through accurate and timely pricing analysis
- Identify, analyze, and resolve complex pricing and portfolio performance issues
- Collaborate with Underwriting, Product, and other business partners to align pricing solutions with strategic objectives
- Evaluate pricing methodologies and processes and recommend improvement opportunities
- Support or lead process improvement initiatives and development of flexible, extensible pricing and reporting solutions
- Contribute to data, modeling, and reporting foundations that underpin improved pricing updates and portfolio management
- Contribute to or lead end to end projects, including documentation and implementation of final pricing solutions
- Provide regular project updates and build strong working relationships within Commercial Lines Pricing and stakeholders
- Commit to ongoing professional development and progression by taking actuarial exams
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or related field
- Progress toward CAS or CIA designation
- Experience in actuarial pricing, an asset
- Experience in commercial auto, commercial property, agricultural insurance, or similar commercial lines products, an asset
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Excel and actuarial/analytical tools; experience with SQL, R, Python, or similar languages, an asset
- Experience with pricing tools (e.g., Radar, Emblem, Classifier) and/or machine learning techniques, an asset
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively and build trust across teams

Compensation
- Salary ranges: Actuarial Analyst $65,000 $95,000; Senior Actuarial Analyst $90,000 $110,000; Actuarial Consultant $105,000 $130,000; Senior Actuarial Consultant $120,000 $145,000; Actuarial Expert $135,000 $170,000.
- Permanent full time and part time employees eligible for annual incentive program, supplemental leave programs, generous vacation, personal days, premium free benefits, and retirement plan.
Workplace
- Hybrid work environment: 2 days per week or 15 hours per week in a Wawanesa office.
