Role Overview

Workplace and Role Details

• The role is hybrid, combining remote work with on-site presence in downtown Montreal.
• The position is at an intermediate to advanced level.
• French is required, while English is identified as an asset.

Core Responsibilities

• Translate business needs into implementation-ready technical requirements.
• Break initiatives, features, and epics into actionable engineering work items.
• Identify gaps, risks, assumptions, and dependencies before development.
• Support backlog refinement and improve delivery readiness.
• Create and maintain functional and technical documentation.
• Analyze impacts and dependencies across systems, services, and teams.
• Define non-functional requirements covering performance, security, reliability, scalability, and compliance.
• Collaborate with architects and engineering teams during solution design and planning.
• Use AI tools to improve analysis, documentation, and productivity.
• Improve requirements management, documentation, and delivery practices.

Qualifications and Experience

• A college diploma or university degree in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Experience as a Business Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, Functional Analyst, or in a similar role.
• Ability to translate business needs into detailed technical requirements.
• Understanding of SDLC and engineering practices, with experience in Agile environments.
• Experience documenting processes, workflows, integrations, and system behaviours.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical documentation skills.
• Ability to identify dependencies, risks, and implementation constraints.
• French language proficiency is required; professional English communication is an asset.

Technical Knowledge

• Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Visio, Lucidchart or similar modelling tools, and Miro or similar collaboration tools.
• Postman for API analysis, Swagger or OpenAPI, generative AI tools, and Microsoft 365 collaborative documentation tools.
• Preferred experience includes SaaS or software products, user stories, acceptance criteria, REST APIs, event-driven architectures, UML, BPMN, cloud environments, SQL, and distributed engineering teams.
