AM/Executive – Technology (Calendaring)

Job Title : AM/Executive – Technology (Calendaring)

Chinna. Office Reports to (Position) : Department/Function : Purpose of the Job : Establishment of Steel and Textile Calendaring process with new materials/equipment Ensure calendaring process to run with desired speed and within targeted rejection level Provide knowledge-based support for trouble shooting and improvement Design groove rolls and profiled sleeves for new material and profile Major Responsibilities : Prepare MSS/IPS/Setup parameters · Certification of Machines and process during trial and regular running. · Process proving of new equipment, process and materials. · Track process deviations and support corrective actions. · Disposition of non-conforming materials · Coordinate one revolution studies, and other improvement studies at calendaring. · Management of tooling including grooved rolls · Design groove rolls and profiled sleeves for new material and profiles · Initiate process and equipment improvement activities. · Shop floor coordination and preparation of reports of product/process/ material trials. · Provide knowledge based support to BU for trouble shooting,efficiency improvement, scrap/waste reduction, etc. · Co-ordinate cycle time reduction projects · Provide training to team members · Support Integrated Management Systems activities in stock preparation process Knowledge (Technical / Functional) . Knowledge of calendaring process and materials Knowledge of 4 roll calendar equipment and tooling Knowledge of calendared material acceptance criteria and control parameters Skills : Leadership quality Communication and Presentation skills Analytical and planning skills Decision making skills Inclination towards analysis and experimentation Relevant Experience : 3-5 years’ experience in steel and textile calendaring process Education Qualification(s) : B Tech Polymer Technologist / Mechanical Engineer
