As the Alternate Underground Manager, you will execute the onsite restart and ramp-up of the underground mine at the Mount Marion Operation, guiding it to steady-state production.
Reporting to the Underground Manager, this pivotal role encompasses statutory compliance, contractor management, operational readiness and the delivery of onsite technical functions. You will develop and implement processes that ensure safe, efficient and sustainable operations.
This position will commence on an 8D6X roster, flying from Perth.

Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Mining) or equivalent
WA First Class Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency
Strong background in underground mining, ideally large‑scale mechanised long‑hole stoping with pastefill operations
Experience ramping up underground projects and building onsite teams and processes
Proven contractor management, performance monitoring and compliance capability
Demonstrated experience in operational and technical team leadership
Familiarity with relevant mining software and technologies
Experience holding statutory Underground Manager responsibilities
Growth mindset with strong communication and relationship‑building skills
Mt Marion is located 40km south west of Kalgoorlie in the Goldfields region of Western Australia. MinRes manages all mining activities at Mt Marion, including a spodumene concentrate processing plant with an annual production capacity of 600,000 tonnes (SC6 equivalent).
