Job Summary

The Airworthiness Compliance Manager owns the compliance management mechanics across Type Certification (TC) and TSO activities in LODD’s Hili UAS VTOL program, ensuring that compliance checklists, documentation standards, review gates and readiness metrics are consistently applied.

The role coordinates compliance demonstrations across disciplines to ensure evidence is complete, traceable, configuration/effectivity-correct and submission-ready before release.

Furthermore, it establishes and maintains the master compliance checklists and evidence indexes, drives closure performance, and provides objective readiness reporting to program leadership.

It has the authority to stop internal release/submission where compliance integrity or traceability is not met and defines evidence completeness criteria used at gates.

The position works closely with the Chief of Airworthiness, Certification Program Managers, CVEs, Airworthiness Specialists and Configuration/Change functions to ensure robust compliance closure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish, maintain and continuously improve the TC/TSO compliance management system: checklist structures, evidence indexing, templates and documentation standards.
  • Own the master compliance checklists (TC and TSO as applicable), including update rules, closure criteria, and traceability (requirement ↔ means of compliance ↔ evidence).
  • Define and operate compliance review gates (e.g., evidence quality gate, CVE-readiness gate, submission readiness gate), including entry/exit criteria and records.
  • Plan compliance deliverables with program teams and coordinate cross-discipline closure sequencing and dependencies.
  • Ensure package integrity: correct effectivity/configuration statements, required signatures present, and evidence coherence prior to internal release or authority submission.
  • Maintain compliance readiness metrics and dashboards (closure status, aging actions, risk to LOI/submissions, rework indicators) and provide regular management reporting.
  • Identify compliance risks early (traceability gaps, missing evidence routes, inconsistent interpretations) and drive corrective actions, escalation and recovery plans where needed.
  • Facilitate alignment between Airworthiness Specialists/engineering teams and CVEs to ensure evidence is technically mature and verification-ready.
  • Exercise the authority to stop internal release/submission when compliance integrity, completeness, or traceability requirements are not met.
  • Support close-out readiness by confirming compliance packs are complete, properly controlled, and ready for release/submission in accordance with internal procedures.

Qualifications And Experience

  • Engineering degree (aerospace, mechanical, electrical or equivalent) or comparable aviation technical qualification.
  • Demonstrated experience in airworthiness compliance management and certification documentation control for aircraft/UAS and approved articles (TC/TSO environments).
  • Solid knowledge of GCAA CAR 21 / EASA Part 21 certification deliverables and structure/logic of compliance demonstration (evidence planning, traceability, closure discipline).
  • Proven capability to define and enforce documentation s
  • Strong traceability and configuration mindset; ability to ensure evidence-to-configuration/effectivity coherence in coordination with configuration management.
  • Experience building and maintaining compliance checklists/evidence indexes and driving closure reporting (KPIs, dashboards, readiness metrics).
  • Able to challenge evidence quality and require corrective actions, including holding releases when criteria are not satisfied.
  • Strong stakeholder coordination skills across engineering disciplines, test/flight test, program management, CVEs and authority liaison.
  • High standard of written communication and structured documentation; able to produce clear, defensible compliance status reporting.
  • Understanding of safety and human factors principles appropriate to the role and responsibilities (risk-based prioritization and escalation behaviors).
