Job Purpose

BAE Systems provides maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force aircraft and trains personnel in a safe training environment.

The Aircraft Maintenance Technician maintains Hawk aircraft and support equipment to deliver serviceable aircraft for operational and flying commitments.

Job Accountabilities

  • Inspect, operate, maintain, and repair AMS systems and remove or install hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components on Hawk aircraft and support equipment.
  • Identify aircraft faults, debrief findings, rectify faults, and schedule maintenance activities.
  • Support the Approved Maintenance Organisation in delivering serviceable aircraft to meet RSAF requirements and flying commitments.
  • Train technicians, support trainees, and maintain a strong safety culture during maintenance activities.
  • Provide accurate information to line managers to help achieve the ETIC schedule and resolve arising issues.
  • Manage repairable components in the supply repair channel and maintain efficient supply discipline.
  • Ensure compliance with TMDE calibration, support equipment maintenance, and Tool Control system cycles.
  • Prepare reports as directed, including training reports, in accordance with policy.

Essential Recruitment Specification

  • A relevant NVQ3, ONC, OND, or BTEC qualification, technical apprenticeship, or suitable equivalent technical qualification acceptable to M&CA is required.
  • A current or lapsed Part 66 license, or an equivalent technical license acceptable to M&CA, is an alternative qualification route.
  • Relevant type training and equipment-specific training are required when applicable.
  • Extensive practical maintenance experience in an operational flying aircraft environment, substantial experience on the same aircraft type, or successful completion of the BAESSA apprenticeship programme is required.
  • Knowledge of aircraft maintenance and engineering is required.
  • Understanding and application of human factors, error management, health and safety, and proactive hazard analysis are required.
  • Saudi Engineering Council registration is required.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Broad aerospace and defence industry knowledge is desirable.
  • Understanding of BAESSA engineering operating procedures is desirable.
