The Opportunity
SPSA is hiring multiple Permanent Full-Time Aircraft Maintenance Engineer I positions within the Air Operations branch, based in La Ronge, SK.
Responsibilities
- Perform periodic inspections on airframes, engines, and systems across a fleet of 17 firefighting aircraft, including CL-215T, CV 580A, Twin Commanders, and DHC Dash8-400 Series.
- Ensures aircraft certification for all maintenance activities and updates aircraft logbooks.
- Performs scheduled inspections; troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment issues (e.g., airframe, engine, electrical, hydraulic, instrumentation systems) and aircraft deficiencies through observation and testing, leading to corrective action.
- Completes safety reports and other required documentation to identify and address safety concerns.
- Participates in all-weather ramp activities, including aircraft towing and ground runs.
- Adheres to standards outlined in Canadian aviation regulations, legislation, policies, and guidelines.
