Completion of High School (Grade 12), equivalent experience, training;
One year previous experience in a manufacturing environment would be considered an asset;
Knowledge of processes, products and equipment and ability to read blueprints and engineering documentation will be considered an asset, however training initiatives will be offered to improve knowledge, safety, productivity and quality of work;
Have strong reading and comprehension skills, be able to balance multiple priorities and have a strong interest in aircraft assembly, repair and/or overhaul;
Must possess a high level of manual dexterity, attention to detail, good hand-eye co-ordination and have the strength to handle a variety of tools, machines and material;
Must be reliable, able to meet ‘moderate-heavy’ pace of work demands and physical requirements of the position, including but not limited to: shift-work; walking, dynamic standing/sitting and attention to detail for extended periods; hand/finger/back/head manipulation, occasional weight bearing/lifting, operating various hydraulic- and hand-tools, and wearing safety gear applicable to the task on hand;
Must be able to be a ‘self-starter’, who is eager to learn and has a desire to progress within the Company and/or work co-operatively with others in a ‘teamwork’ environment and follow written and spoken directions precisely;
Must be eligible to meet the requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and the Canadian Security Clearances – Secret Level II.
