The Opportunity
The role designs and delivers significant capabilities for HSBC Productivity Suite, an AI-powered workspace used by 250,000 colleagues.
The position is an individual-contributor role focused on hands-on engineering rather than formal people management.
The engineer works as a senior technical contributor within an engineering pod and provides practical technical direction.
AI Engineering Context
HSBC is building intelligent agents and integrations that connect colleagues with trusted enterprise knowledge, services, and workflows.
The global engineering team includes approximately 50 engineers across the UK, India, Poland, and China.
The work supports enterprise AI engineering standards, architecture, product direction, quality, reliability, and measurable value.
Experience and Qualifications
- At least 10 years of experience is required.
- Strong hands-on software engineering experience is required, including designing, coding, testing, and operating significant applications or product capabilities.
- Strong Python expertise and practical knowledge of APIs, microservices, databases, containers, automated testing, and CI/CD are required.
