This four-month co-op or internship provides hands-on actuarial experience in a dynamic insurance environment.
The intern will receive coaching, mentorship, training, project work, feedback, and cross-functional exposure.
Support and Development
- Receive coaching and mentorship from actuarial experts and team members.
- Access ongoing training, modern tools, and learning platforms.
- Complete hands-on projects with regular feedback and clear objectives.
- Collaborate with underwriting, marketing, risk management, and finance teams.
- Build professional connections through networking opportunities.
What You Will Accomplish
- Collaborate on analytical and decision-making assignments across insurance business functions.
- Present project methods, results, recommendations, and learnings to colleagues and stakeholders.
- Monitor insurance portfolio profitability and competitiveness and contribute to action planning.
- Assess the effects of geopolitical context, climate change, and other trends on insurance risk.
- Apply actuarial techniques to support reserves, reinsurance, and capital under catastrophe scenarios.
- Analyze and improve personal and commercial insurance pricing models through innovation initiatives.
What You Will Bring
- Ongoing university studies in actuarial science, statistics, mathematics, business intelligence, or a related discipline.
- Bilingual French and English communication skills are required.
- Availability for 35 hours per week and attendance at the office at least two days per week.
- Active student enrollment for the full duration of the internship.
- Adaptability, teamwork, autonomy, accountability, communication, analytical, and synthesis skills.
