Accounts & Finance Manager | CA

Position Overview

Role Context

• The stated job location is Pune (Camp).
• The role reports to the Head of Finance or CFO.

Accounting and Financial Reporting

• Lead day-to-day group accounting operations and ensure accurate, complete and timely recording of financial transactions.
• Drive monthly, quarterly and annual financial close processes and review ledgers, reconciliations, provisions, accruals, revenue, costs, receivables and payables.
• Ensure appropriate accounting treatment for construction projects, development activities, land transactions, project costs and related-party transactions.
• Prepare and review financial statements and management reporting in accordance with applicable accounting standards.

MIS, FP&A and Business Support

• Lead monthly MIS, project-wise profitability reports, budgets, forecasts, cash-flow projections and variance analysis.
• Provide management with financial insights on project performance, costs, margins, working capital and cash flows.
• Develop management dashboards and analytical reports and work with project, commercial, procurement and business teams.

Tax and Statutory Compliance

• Oversee direct and indirect tax compliance, including GST, TDS, Income Tax and other applicable statutory requirements.
• Ensure timely filing of returns, payments, reconciliations and responses to tax or statutory queries.
• Coordinate with external tax advisors, auditors and consultants and monitor changes in tax laws.

ERP and Process Management

• Own ERP utilization from a finance and accounting perspective and work with ERP teams or consultants to configure processes and improve controls.
• Define ERP-based MIS and reporting solutions and drive standardization, automation and continuous improvement.
• Experience with Highrise, SAP or an equivalent ERP is preferred.

Audit and Team Leadership

• Coordinate statutory, tax and internal audits, maintain documentation and supporting schedules and ensure timely closure of audit observations.
• Lead, guide and motivate the accounting team, allocate responsibilities, monitor performance and develop team capabilities.
• Establish a process-oriented and accountability-driven culture within the finance function.

Required Skills

• In-depth knowledge of accounting, financial reporting and month-end or year-end close processes is required.
• Strong understanding of real estate, construction, promoter and developer businesses, including project accounting, is required.
• Strong knowledge of FP&A, MIS, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis is required.
• Good understanding of GST, TDS, Income Tax and other applicable statutory compliances is required.
• Strong ERP knowledge, technology proficiency, analytical ability, attention to detail and stakeholder-management skills are required.

Qualification and Experience

• Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is required.
• Candidates must have 5 years of post-qualification experience or CA articleship completion with 10 years of experience leading accounting or finance functions.
• Experience in a real estate, construction, promoter or developer organization is strongly preferred.
• Proven experience managing accounting teams and delivering MIS, financial close, statutory compliance and management reporting is required.
