Responsibilities
- Lead and manage day to day accounting operations, including AP, AR, general ledger, and bank reconciliations
- Oversee project cost accounting, work in progress (WIP) reporting, and job costing
- Manage subcontractor and supplier payments, retention, and progress billings
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports
- Manage VAT filings and ensure compliance with UAE tax regulations and FTA requirements
- Monitor project budgets, track cost variances, and advise project managers and senior leadership on financial performance
- Oversee payroll processing and WPS compliance
- Supervise, mentor, and develop the accounting team
- Coordinate with external auditors and lead year end audit processes
- Establish and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures in line with accounting standards
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of accounting experience, with substantial experience in the construction or contracting industry, including a leadership or managerial role
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of construction accounting, project costing, and WIP
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, Odoo, or ERP systems)
- Solid understanding of UAE VAT and regulatory requirements
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong leadership, analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Professional certification (CPA, CMA, ACCA, or equivalent) is an advantage
- UAE experience preferred

Role Overview
- The Accounting Manager will oversee the full accounting cycle, manage the finance team, direct project cost accounting, and ensure accurate, compliant financial reporting.
- The ideal candidate brings deep familiarity with construction specific accounting practices, including project costing, WIP, subcontractor payments, and retention.
