About the Role

Responsibilities
- Maintain and update financial records
- Record all financial transactions accurately (e.g., invoices, receipts, payments)
- Prepare balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and other reports
- Ensure financial statements comply with regulatory standards (e.g., IFRS or GAAP)
- Assist in preparing budgets and financial forecasts
- Monitor actual spending vs. budget and highlight variances
- Prepare and file tax returns (corporate, VAT, etc.)
- Ensure compliance with tax laws and timely payments
- Liaise with tax authorities when required
- Monitor accounts receivable to ensure timely collections
- Manage accounts payable to ensure timely payments
- Reconcile bank statements with internal records regularly

Accounting Duties
- Financial Record Keeping: Ensure adherence to financial regulations and standards; keep up to date with changes in laws; maintain and update financial records; record all financial transactions accurately
- Preparing Financial Statements: Prepare balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and other reports; ensure compliance with IFRS or GAAP
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in preparing budgets and financial forecasts; monitor actual spending vs. budget and highlight variances
- Tax Preparation and Compliance: Prepare and file tax returns (corporate, VAT, etc.); ensure compliance with tax laws and timely payments; liaise with tax authorities when required
- Accounts Payable and Receivable: Monitor accounts receivable to ensure timely collections; manage accounts payable to ensure timely payments
- Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements with internal records regularly; investigate and resolve discrepancies
- Audit and Internal Controls: Support internal and external audits; implement and monitor internal financial controls to prevent fraud
- Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data to support decision making; provide insights on cost saving opportunities and profitability
