Role Summary
The General Accountant is responsible for managing day to day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial recording, compliance with company policies, and timely reporting.
The role includes handling payables, petty cash, reconciliations, and supporting financial closing processes.
1. Accounts Payable (AP)
Process vendor invoices and verify accuracy
Match invoices with purchase orders and delivery notes (3-way matching)
Record all AP transactions in accounting systems
2. Petty Cash Management
Maintain and monitor petty cash fund
Record petty cash expenses and ensure proper documentation
Reconcile petty cash regularly
3. Cheque Preparation
Prepare cheques/payments for suppliers
Ensure approvals are in place before issuing payments
Maintain cheque registers and payment records
4. Accounts Payable Reconciliation
Reconcile vendor statements with company records
Identify and resolve discrepancies
Maintain accurate AP aging report
Work Location: Musaffah, Abu Dhabi, (Transportation provided from Abu Dhabi city)
