Abatement Laborer

About the Position

Responsibilities

• Set up and clean up hazardous material containment areas.
• Perform asbestos abatement using hand and power tools.
• Work on asbestos abatement projects in both industrial, commercial and residential environments.
• Conduct mold remediation and lead abatement activities.
• Follow company safety policies and regulatory procedures for hazardous material removal.
• Communicate with team members and assist in ensuring proper handling and disposal of hazardous waste.
• Adhere to all provincial and local compliance standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Knowledge in hazardous materials abatement and remediation preferred.
• Construction industry experience would be an asset.
• Able to obtain a Secret Level Security Clearance an asset.
• Willingness to travel to different job sites.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment such as full face respirator and tyvek suit.
• Ability to lift 30-50 lbs unaided.
• Must be able to commute to and from job sites with own forces.
