About this opportunity: At Ericsson, we are seeking an experienced Support Engineer to join a specialist CCxx/UDM support team within MOAI NEO, supporting 5G Core and Cloud Core solutions for NACI customers.
This is a pivotal opportunity to work on complex L2/L3 incidents, improve live network stability and contribute directly to the reliable delivery of high-performing 5G Cloud Core services.
You will work closely with product, project, service delivery and problem management teams to reduce outages, prevent repeat faults and safely introduce new CCxx releases into customer networks.
The role suits a technically strong, customer-focused engineer who thrives in carrier-grade environments, takes ownership of critical issues and is committed to operational excellence.
What you will do: - Lead L2/L3 investigations and drive resolution of complex customer issues across 5G UDM and CCxx Cloud Core applications, including CCSM, CCDM and CCRC. - Own critical incident response, fault isolation and service restoration in live, carrier-grade, customer-facing environments. - Analyse system behaviour, logs, network flows, trace data and distributed platform performance to identify root causes and prevent repeat faults. - Collaborate with product, project, service delivery, IMS, EPC/5GC, RAN and BSS/Charging teams to improve service stability and resolve cross-domain issues. - Provide clear customer and stakeholder updates, technical guidance, resolution plans, RCAs and impact analysis during high-priority incidents. - Drive operational efficiency through automation, documentation, knowledge sharing, mentoring and continuous improvement initiatives.
The skills you bring: - Deep understanding of UDC/UDM architecture and how CUDB/UDR, HLR-FE, HSS-FE, EIR-FE, CCRC, CCSM and CCDM work together, including subscriber data models, keys, indexes, replication and subscription flows from CCDM to FEs, EPC/IMS and PACO. - Strong protocol and interface knowledge, especially Diameter across S6a/S6d, Cx, Sh, Gr, SLh and Ud-type interfaces, MAP basics for legacy environments and awareness of 5G UDM interfaces such as Nudm. - Practical experience with HLR-FE, HSS-FE and EIR-FE behaviour across attach, RAU/LAU, EPS attach, IMS registration, authentication, subscription download/update, barring, roaming and IMEI-check scenarios. - Strong platform and cloud troubleshooting capability across CCSM, NFs, pods, instances, scaling, Day-0/Day-1 parameters, Diameter endpoints, Linux, Kubernetes, containers, YAML configuration, alarms, KPIs, CPU, RAM and disk. - Experience with CCDM/CUDB provisioning and data operations, including order flows, bulk operations, migrations, consistency checks, safe subscriber-data correction and rollback planning. - Solid incident, change and problem management skills, with the ability to produce strong case notes, explain complex UDM/UDC findings clearly and collaborate effectively during high-pressure customer incidents. - 5GC/CCRC knowledge, including CCRC interaction with NRF, NSSF, DNS and SBI/HTTP2, plus geo-redundancy, database sync/resync, system expansion/reduction, install, upgrade and expansion activities. - Ability to read Kubernetes and NF logs and troubleshoot registration, slice-selection, service discovery, routing and platform-related issues across cloud-native 5G Core environments.
