The Field Representative Development Program is a structured development experience designed to prepare early-career professionals for field-based roles supporting Caterpillar dealers and customers around the world.

Participants gain a broad understanding of Caterpillar's products, services, customers, and dealer network while developing the business, technical, and relationship-building skills necessary for long-term success.

📘 Your Development Journey

Your development begins with a 13-week in-person training experience in Peoria, Illinois , where you will:

Build foundational knowledge of Caterpillar products, services, and industries

Develop sales, technical, communication, and leadership skills

Learn how Caterpillar partners with dealers and customers to solve complex challenges

Network with peers, leaders, and subject matter experts across the organization

Following training, participants complete developmental assignments designed to broaden their business knowledge and industry expertise, including exposure to:

Product and service support

Customer and dealer engagement

Commercial and business strategy

Marketing and sales operations

These experiences prepare participants for a long-term career supporting Caterpillar dealers and customers in the field.
