- This position is in Jacksonville, FL
- Summer 2027 for 11 weeks
- Intern housing is provided near the St. Johns Town Center and less than 10 miles from the beach!
What can an Actuarial Intern at Florida Blue expect?
- Own real, high-impact projects — Conduct research and analyses that directly inform strategic decisions and drive meaningful outcomes across Florida Blue departments
- Understand actuarial impact at scale — Gain insight into the full spectrum of actuarial work and see firsthand how your contributions directly impact the health and well-being of our members
- Learn from a dedicated mentor — Work closely with an assigned manager who provides guidance and support as you navigate a dynamic environment
- Build cross-functional knowledge — Connect with colleagues across actuarial teams to broaden your understanding of the department and profession
- Showcase your work — Gain valuable presentation experience by presenting your summer project and findings to the entire actuarial department
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled as a full-time student and not graduating before the Fall 2027 semester
- Cumulative 3.0 or better GPA
- Basic PC skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferred Skills And Experience
- Previous project experience or health care related work
- Excellent written and verbal communication and the ability to collaborate with others
- Knowledge of programming languages (e.g. SAS, SQL, VBA, etc.)
- Time management
- Cumulative 3.2 or better GPA
- Detail-oriented
General Physical Demands Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to move objects.
Jobs are sedentary if traversing activities are required only occasionally.

Typical Hourly Pay Range: $26 - $30 Final pay will be determined with consideration of market competitiveness, internal equity, and the job-related knowledge, skills, training, and experience you bring.
