Position Overview

  • EDC is seeking a financial professional to be an important contributor to the Segment & Product Analytics team.
  • The team supports the segment, product and commercial groups at EDC in Reporting and Analytics, Strategic Planning and Portfolio Management.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting in depth reporting and analysis on business results that help drive informed decision making.

What you will be doing

  • Partner with business stakeholders, data teams, and technology partners to gather requirements, define success metrics, validate business logic, and ensure analytics outputs are accurate, trusted, and aligned with business priorities.
  • Use SQL and Python to extract, transform, model, analyze, and visualize data from multiple enterprise sources.
  • Translate business questions into scalable analytics solutions, including curated datasets, semantic models, dashboards, and self serve reporting products that support strategic and operational decision making.
  • Develop and maintain executive ready dashboards, scorecards, and reporting that monitor portfolio performance, operational drivers, and business outcomes.
  • Conduct diagnostic, predictive, and exploratory analyses to identify opportunities, risks, and emerging trends, and provide actionable recommendations to business leaders.
  • Leverage automation, advanced analytics, and AI enabled tools where appropriate to improve reporting efficiency, reduce manual effort, and enhance the speed and quality of insight generation.
  • Communicate complex analytical findings clearly through visual storytelling, concise recommendations, and audience appropriate narratives for technical teams, business partners, and senior leaders.
  • Contribute to data quality, governance, and documentation practices by identifying data integrity issues, documenting business definitions and metric logic, and recommending practical improvements to improve trust in reporting.
  • Leverage AI and advanced analytics tools to improve data quality, perform anomaly detection and enhance efficiency of workflows.
  • Support the exploration and implementation of AI driven solutions to generate insights and improve decision making processes.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of EDC products, portfolios, and business priorities to provide relevant and meaningful analytical insights.

What we are looking for

  • Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Economics, Business Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in business intelligence and data analytics with large, complex datasets, or related experience.
  • Experience using SQL or Python for data transformation.
  • Experience with data transformation tools such as Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, SSIS, or DataStage.
  • Experience using business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Cognos Analytics, or Tableau.
  • Experience with data virtualization software such as Denodo.
  • Strong Excel skills, including ability to use pivot tables, VBA, data management and validation tools.
  • Solid understanding of finance and statistical principles and concepts.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.

Compensation Details

  • Business Intelligence & Analytics 16: Salaries typically range from CAD 74,297 to CAD 99,063 annually, based on qualifications and experiences plus a performance based incentive.

Location

  • Export Development Canada operates in a hybrid work environment, with a current requirement of two in office days per week, increasing to three days per week in September 2026 (subject to change).
  • This role will be performed from EDC's headquarters in Ottawa.
  • Relocation assistance is available for candidates who meet the eligibility criteria.
