Description
SAIC is seeking a Wireless Network Engineer to design, integrate, and support enterprise wireless LAN/WAN over OSP/FTTx networks, engineer and implement GPON solutions (ONT, OLT, WDM) for Marine Corps installations.
Job Duties
- Plan, design, implement, and optimize wireless LAN and related technologies integrated with GPON.
- Develop engineering drawings, test plans/procedures, and cutover/migration documentation.
- Provide operational support for large-scale, high-availability wireless deployments; troubleshoot LAN/WAN/wireless issues.
- Conduct feasibility analyses; execute tests, log defects, verify fixes, and contribute to test strategies.
- Perform site audits; ensure network compatibility and recommend remediation.
- Create functional designs, deployment procedures, and operational processes; lead technical efforts and mentor staff.
Required Education and Work Experience
Bachelors degree and five (5) years of work experience.
SME-level experience with Wireless LAN; strong knowledge of up to Wi-Fi 7 and Layer 2/Layer 3.
Experience with Cisco-based wireless site surveys, network design, and implementation.
Experience with Wi Fi, WAN/LAN; RF design/optimization and range/propagation testing.
SIP, IMS, and VoLTE standards.
Required Security Clearance
No clearance required to start, must have the ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
