About the Job Role
As a Winter Maintenance operative, you will undertake winter maintenance gritting driving duties on a temporary basis, from October to April. Various work patterns available covering day shift and night shift. To be discussed at interview. You will have a flexible attitude to work, be health and safety aware and be able to effectively communicate with work colleagues, supervisory staff and client representatives. You will have the ability to work to precise levels and requirements of winter maintenance work, such as: Driving winter maintenance gritters as and when required along designated routes (i.e. driving which requires a Category C licence or specialist driving skills). Operate winter maintenance gritters safely, effectively, efficiently, and to the required quality and standard set out by Tayside Contracts. Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any vehicle defects immediately. Contribute to snow clearance activities when required which would involve attaching the snow plough to the winter maintenance gritters. A Category C Driving Licence or equivalent entitlement to drive in Great Britain is essential and Category C+E is desirable. A drivers CPC for HGV Licence is essential and a CSCS Health and Safety card is preferred but not essential. You will also be paid: Night Working Allowances as applicable. Standby Allowances as applicable.
You will have the ability to work to precise levels and requirements of winter maintenance work, such as:
