Overview
- Perform
- inspection of welding activities
- during fabrication and erection as per approved procedures
- Ensure all welding is carried out in accordance with
- WPS, PQR, and project specifications
- Conduct
- fit-up inspections, visual inspections, and welding parameter checks
- Verify
- welder qualifications (WQT)
- and ensure only approved welders are deployed
- Coordinate and witness
- NDT activities
- (UT, RT, MT, PT) and review test reports
- Monitor
- pre-heating, interpass temperature, and post-weld heat treatment (PWHT)
- where required
- Review and verify
- material certificates (MTC)
- and consumable control records
- Raise
- inspection requests (IRs)
- and coordinate with client/consultant for approvals
- Identify and report
- non-conformances (NCRs)
- and ensure corrective actions are implemented
- Maintain proper
- QA/QC documentation, welding logs, and inspection reports
- Ensure compliance with
- ITPs, QA/QC plans, and international standards (AWS, ASME)
- Coordinate with site teams, supervisors, and engineers to ensure quality compliance
