Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and qualify Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and Welder Performance Qualifications (WPQ)
- Perform welding quality control and inspection activities
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related field
- 3–7 years of experience in welding engineering
- Strong knowledge of ASME Section IX requirements and welding codes
- Proven experience in preparing, reviewing, and qualifying WPS, PQR, and WPQ
- Experience in welding quality control and inspection activities
- Familiarity with GTAW (TIG), SMAW, GMAW (MIG), FCAW, and SAW welding processes
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Knowledge of NDT methods (VT, PT, MT, RT, UT) is preferred
- AWS, CSWIP, or equivalent certification is an advantage
- Strong technical reporting and communication skills
