About the Role
IntrepidGS seeks a journeyman-level Welder/Pipefitter for shop and field support in Doha, Qatar. The role involves SMAW, GMAW, GTAW welding, metal fabrication, blueprint reading, and coaching subordinate welders.

Responsibilities
- Perform shop/field journeyman SMAW, GMAW, GTAW welding and metal fabrications
- Read blueprints, sketches, and modification orders to plan the process and layout
- Fabricate metal products per technical drawings or customer provided samples
- Assist in coaching subordinate welders in compliance with IOP and quality regulations
- Responsible for welding testing/qualification process and test plate inspections
- Utilize Oxygen/Acetylene, Carbon Arc, Plasma cutting equipment to dismantle assemblies and cut material
- Observe all current OSHA, AFOSHA ES&H and fire regulations
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Five (5) years’ experience in Weld Shop
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in welding inspection
- Must be a qualified journeyman
- Must possess a valid U.S. Driver’s License
- Must have and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance
- Able to obtain and maintain a valid Residency Visa for Qatar

Job Overview
- Performs journeyman level welding/cutting & metal fabrications in the Allied Trades Welding shop & Field support, and welding/fabrication/repairs as required.
Essential Job Functions
- Performs Shop/Field Journeyman SMAW, GMAW, GTAW Welding & Metal Fabrications.
- Reads blueprints, sketches, and modification orders to plan the process and layout.
- Fabricates metal products per technical drawings or customer provided samples.
- Assists in coaching subordinate welders in ensuring compliance with IOP and quality regulations.
- Responsible for the Welding Testing/Qualification process and test plate inspections.
- Utilizes Oxygen/Acetylene, Carbon Arc, Plasma cutting equipment.
- Responsible for observing all current OSHA, AFOSHA ES&H and fire regulations.
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Five (5) years’ experience in Weld Shop.
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience in welding inspection is required.
- Must be a qualified journeyman.
- Experience with power tools, power saws, cranes, drills, etc.
Additional Requirements
- Must possess a valid U.S. Driver’s License.
- Possess a valid U.S. Passport (preferred).
- Must be able to meet all current USCENTCOM Deployment Policy Requirements.
- Able to obtain and maintain a valid Residency Visa for Qatar.
- Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures.
- Must be able to endure long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
- Must have and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
