Position Summary
The Web Design Specialist plays an important role in the organization by performing a number of activities directly related to the company’s marketing functions. The role is primarily responsible, under moderate to intermittent direction, for the conceptual development, direction, delivery, buy in and production of their visual design.
Compensation
- This role is an exempt position with a Targeted Salary Range of $64,000 to $72,000 annually.
- Compensation at Guild is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to local and federal minimum wage requirements, education, level of experience, and applicant’s geographical location.
Essential Functions
Design of digital materials (websites, email marketing, landing pages, social media) for Pardot, corporate website, microsites and corporate social media accounts.
Apply conceptual thinking to create high-quality creative solutions across multiple platforms; effectively bringing together customers’ needs, Guild business goals, technical realities and creativity.
Develop sound creative concepts that take into consideration: customers’ needs (target demographic), market research data results and technology.
Effectively communicate conceptual ideas, detailed design, and design rationale both verbally and visually to the creative design manager.
Present creative concepts to the stakeholders and get buy-ins when needed.
Translate create concepts into designs.
Submit creative deliverables within the agreed upon deadline and estimated production time (production).
Meet with internal customers to discuss requirements or project goals as needed.
Collaborate effectively with other team members; designers, copywriters and project managers.
Work closely with front-end developers and help with development when necessary (small projects).
Guide and advise fellow employees in the creative process to foster stronger working relationships and solutions.
Keep informed on latest creative and web trends.
Manage creative design approval process as needed.
Ensure that customer’s experience with our brand is consistent with our brand guidelines.
Create additional style guides and brand guidelines to supplement and support digital needs.
Follow consistent processes and standard resources to name, file, and archive consistently.
Propose process improvements that would enable greater adoption of assets created and greater efficiency for limited resources (print and web).
Design print materials as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree directly related to the position or equivalent, preferred.
- Minimum five years recent experience in web design role.
- Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Adobe XD) and Sketch.
- Excellent verbal and communication skills required.
- Strong visual, infographic thinking, with the ability to present data in compelling ways.
- Basic knowledge of the mortgage industry and Guild’s products and services.
- Basic knowledge of programming languages (HTML and CSS) as well as web design content management system platforms (WordPress).
- Basic knowledge of UX/UI.
- Basic knowledge of marketing automation and API.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively; clearly articulate ideas and possess a business understanding and awareness.
- Effective writing and presentation skills required.
- Strong interpersonal skills and passionate about delivering excellence in customer service.
- Highly organized and detail oriented; ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated with a strong attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, Wiki, collaborative cloud-based programs, and third-party software applications required.

Supervision

Interaction/Supervision: Acts as a mentor/guide to less experienced professional contributor staff in a similar role; works independently and only under general direction; guided by professional standards, desired outcomes, and project plan specifications.
Requirements
- Physical: Work is primarily sedentary; mobility in an office setting.
- Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of computer keyboard and mouse.
- Audio/Visual: Ability to accurately interpret sounds and associated meanings at a volume consistent with interpersonal conversation. Regularly required to accurately perceive, distinguish and interpret information received visually and through audio, e.g., words, numbers and other data broadcasted aloud/viewed on a screen, as well as print and other media.
- Environmental: Office environment – moderate noise, no substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
- Mental: Learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, and make timely decisions in the context of a workflow. This role requires effective adaptation to workplace stressors, including customer service complaints, security responsibilities, and competing priorities. Must be able to adhere to process protocol. Must be able to apply established protocols in a timely manner.
