About the Role
The Water Hygiene Engineer, internally known as a Critical Maintenance Engineer, will carry out planned preventative maintenance and water hygiene services across customer sites in the Basingstoke area.
The role includes routine flushing, water sampling, temperature monitoring, and checks to help customers maintain safe and compliant water systems.
Training and support are provided for candidates developing their water hygiene knowledge and skills.
Salary
- Salary is up to £30,000 per annum, plus OTE and double-rate overtime.
Hours
- The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, from 8am to 4pm.
- The position provides 37.5 hours per week, with paid overtime available.
What You'll Be Doing
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance on water systems.
- Complete routine flushing and water sampling and record water temperatures.
- Perform routine water-system checks and report issues, defects, or non-compliances.
- Record completed work accurately using company systems.
- Work professionally on customer sites and maintain positive client relationships.
- Follow health and safety procedures and relevant water hygiene guidance, including ACOP L8 and HSG274.
- Support wider water hygiene and Legionella control activities.
What We're Looking For
- Candidates may have experience in water hygiene, plumbing, facilities management, maintenance, or a similar technical environment.
- Some previous planned preventative maintenance or routine maintenance experience may be suitable.
- Good practical skills, attention to detail, communication skills, and a professional customer approach are expected.
- The role requires independent working, effective time management, and a good understanding of workplace health and safety.
- Candidates must be willing to learn and undertake relevant training.
- A full UK driving licence is required.
