About the Role
Ventia is seeking Watchroom Operators for Fire and Rescue operations at HMAS Albatross. The role involves maintaining operational readiness, responding fire crews to incidents, and supporting communications.

Responsibilities
- Maintain effective operational readiness in accordance with Ventia policies and guidelines
- Respond fire crews to incidents and maintain support and communications to the Incident Controller
- Assist the OIC of the Fire Station with administrative duties related to operational aspects
- Participate in the Fire Station training and development plan
Requirements
- Hold PUAFIR210 Prevent Injury or equivalent
- Hold PUAOPE013 Operate Communication Systems and Equipment or equivalent
- Hold PUATEA001 Work in a Team or equivalent
- Hold PUACOM001 Communicate in the Workplace or equivalent
- Hold PUATEA002 Work Autonomously or equivalent
- Must be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance up to Negative Vetting Level 1
- Must be an Australian Citizen
- Previous experience in a communications room (highly desirable)
- Strong focus on team orientation

Overview
- Our Rescue & Fire Fighting (RFF) services currently extend from stations in WA, SA, VIC, NSW and QLD.
- Due to the evolving nature of this contract, we have multiple Watchroom Operator positions available in our Fire and Rescue operations at HMAS Albatross.
- This role can be a career as a Watch Room operator working within the Emergency Services and Defence Industry or the first step into a career as a Firefighter.
Responsibilities
- Maintain an effective operational readiness in accordance with the relevant policies and guidelines of Ventia.
- Respond fire crews to incidents as required at the applicable fire station and maintain support and communications where required to the Incident Controller.
- Assist the OIC of the Fire Station to ensure that all relevant administrative duties associated with the operational aspect of the fire station are performed.
- Participate in the Fire Station training and development plan.

- You must hold 1 of the qualifications PUAs in EACH of the 5 Boxes below: PUAFIR210 Prevent Injury, PUAFIR215 Prevent Injury (Superseded) EQ PUAFIR201B Prevent Injury (Superseded), PUAOPE013 Operate Communication Systems and Equipment, PUAOPE013A Operate Communication Systems and Equipment (Supersede
Highly Desirable
- Previous experience in some form of communications room.
Other Requirements
- A strong focus on team orientation.
- Must be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance up to the level of Negative Vetting Level 1. As a result of this requirement the incumbent must be an Australian Citizen.
