The Warehouse Supervisor is a hands-on, floor-level leader responsible for executing the daily operations of the warehouse. Reporting directly to the Logistics Manager, this role supervises the material handling team to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient material flow. The ideal candidate champions 5S standards, drives daily inventory accuracy through the ERP, and motivates their team to meet daily operational targets.
Floor Leadership & Team Development
Supervision: Directly manage, motivate, and assign daily duties to a team of 12 to 16 warehouse employees.
Training & Engagement: Lead shift communication, conduct performance evaluations, and ensure all material handlers are properly trained on equipment and safety protocols.
Resource Allocation: Ensure the efficient use of warehouse equipment, labor, and resources to meet daily inbound and outbound targets.
Operational Execution & Inventory
Workflow Management: Oversee overall daily warehouse operations, ensuring accurate picking, staging, and material flow to support production without downtime.
System Accuracy: Apply strong knowledge of ERP to track inventory movements and investigate discrepancies on the floor.
Metrics Tracking: Track shift-level performance metrics aligned with the Logistics Manager’s overarching Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).
Safety & Facility Standards
5S & Organization: Maintain impeccably organized zones, ensuring wrapped pallets, safely stored materials, and clear aisles in strict accordance with 5S methodologies.
Safety Compliance: Monitor floor safety and quality daily, ensuring all WorkSafeBC targets and internal safety standards are met.
Problem Solving: Proactively identify floor-level bottlenecks or hazards and implement creative, strategic solutions to keep operations running smoothly.
Experience and Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of direct supervisory experience in a warehousing and distribution environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field is highly preferred.
- Valid Forklift Operator Certification (required) and the ability to safely work at heights (using ladders or lifts).
- Proven ability to lead, delegate, set clear expectations, and drive team success in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, multi-task effectively, and maintain exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of delivering clear instructions to the floor team and concise shift reports to management.
- Solid on-the-spot problem-solving abilities, capable of working independently while remaining aligned with broader team goals.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs (23kg).
Working Conditions
Total Compensation: $65,000 - $75,000
Location: Ability to work from both facility locations 1575 Vernon Drive, Vancouver, BC , V6A 3P8 AND 5085 North Fraser Way, Burnaby, BC, V5J 0J2
Work hours: 9am - 5:30pm (with required availability for some evenings or weekends)
Ability to lift up to 50lbs (23kg)
