Role Description
Operate material-handling equipment to move, load, unload, organize, and position goods in warehouses, distribution centers, and logistics facilities.
The position supports efficient warehouse operations while maintaining safety, equipment condition, and accurate material handling.
Previous warehouse, logistics, or equipment operation experience is preferred but not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate equipment and move pallets, cartons, containers, and other materials between receiving, storage, picking, staging, and dispatch areas.
- Load and unload trucks, position goods in designated locations, and assist warehouse teams with internal transportation.
- Conduct pre-operation inspections and report visible damage, leaks, unusual noises, equipment faults, or maintenance needs.
- Follow traffic routes, operating procedures, weight limits, load capacities, and safe distances from pedestrians and other operators.
- Keep loads properly positioned and secured, maintain clean operating areas, and complete equipment logs when required.
- Follow health and safety procedures, wear required personal protective equipment, and participate in routine checks and maintenance.
- Follow supervisor instructions and support other warehouse equipment and material-handling duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Previous warehouse or material-handling experience is preferred, and equipment operation experience is an advantage.
- Relevant equipment operating certification or licence is preferred where required.
- Good understanding of warehouse safety procedures and workplace hazards.
- Ability to safely handle and move materials, perform manual work, and work in a fast-paced warehouse.
- Good teamwork and communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, or overtime when required.
