Bowhead seeks a part-time, on-call VTC Programmer to support our customer on the PICRD II contract.
This role may be telecommute but will require periodic travel to the Colorado Springs, CO area as mission needs dictate.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience with Crestron and Extron programming.
- Remotely program, test, operate, and support video conferencing equipment on NIPR, SIPR, and JWICS networks, with emphasis on AV control system programming and troubleshooting.
- Support the VTC team in maintaining video conferencing hardware, software, and peripherals (e.g., CODEC, AV, Gateways, TMS, Monitors, Projectors, AMX Panels).
- Maintain currency with advancing technologies and provide recommendations for new technologies, including technology refresh, to the Government.
- Program and configure Extron, Crestron, AMX, and DSP systems for advanced AV deployments.
- Perform rack-level system configuration, testing, and remote diagnostics; conduct troubleshooting and system validation for complex AV environments.
- Collaborate with project managers, field engineers, and design teams to ensure successful deployments and day-to-day customer AV/VTC sessions.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, configuration files, and commissioning reports; ensure systems comply with applicable DoD and DISA standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve AV/VTC issues, providing root cause analysis and system-level remediation as required.
- Coordinate with government personnel and external vendors to support operational continuity and technology alignment.
- Share technical knowledge with team members and support training efforts for AV/VTC personnel as needed.
- Assist with the creation and maintenance of SOPs and security documentation for AV/VTC operations.
- Travel to Colorado Springs and surrounding facilities as required for onsite installation, commissioning, testing, or complex issue resolution.
- Other duties as assigned.
- BS degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science.
- Minimum of 10 years advanced experience in engineering and installing VTC/AV systems, including Crestron/Extron and AMX control programming and DSP audio installation for AV/VTC systems.
- Experience supporting and maintaining VTC/AV equipment and scheduling on the NIPRNET, SIPRNET, COE JWICS, GWAN, and GOLD networks.
- Excellent customer service skills including customer relationships, responsiveness, timely resolution of customer issues, and the ability to problem-solve creatively in time-sensitive situations.
- Ability and willingness to travel to the Colorado Springs, CO area as needed.
- Core and Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Tasks (KSATs) defined in the DoD Cyber Workforce Framework for Work Role 411 (Intermediate).
Certification Requirements
- CompTIA Security+
- At least one of the following certifications within 6 months of hire: o Crestron Certified Programmer (CCP) o Extron Authorized Programmer (EAP) o Crestron Technician o Extron Control Professional o Extron Network AV Specialist
- Python 3.x proficiency and Thinklogical Technology 300 are highly desired.
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must currently hold a Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
- Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
The targeted rate is $100/hour based on qualifications and experience.
