Role Overview
The role designs, develops, integrates, commissions, and optimizes machine vision inspection and industrial imaging systems.
Applications support automated manufacturing and quality-control processes.
The position spans machine vision, industrial imaging, automation, motion control, and mechanical machine building.
Key Responsibilities
- Design machine vision and industrial imaging systems for automated inspection and quality control.
- Select cameras, lenses, optics, filters, and lighting configurations for inspection requirements.
- Integrate 2D, area-scan, line-scan, and 3D laser profiler cameras.
- Develop solutions for dimensional inspection, defect detection, surface inspection, measurement, alignment, identification, and quality control.
- Integrate vision systems with conveyors, sensors, actuators, motors, PLCs, motion systems, and automation equipment.
- Collaborate on machine design, camera mounting, lighting arrangement, part presentation, fixturing, and mechanical integration.
- Develop and optimize image-processing and inspection algorithms.
- Perform setup, calibration, image acquisition, feasibility studies, troubleshooting, commissioning, validation, and production ramp-up.
- Prepare technical documentation, system specifications, inspection procedures, and reports.
- Work with customers, production teams, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, controls engineers, and automation teams.
