Video Editor Job Description

  • We are looking for a creative and detail oriented Video Editor with strong storytelling skills and hands on experience in both traditional and AI powered video editing tools.
  • The ideal candidate should be passionate about visual storytelling, social media trends, and emerging technologies, with the ability to create high quality, engaging video content for digital platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Edit long form and short form videos for social media platforms (Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.).
  • Use AI powered video editing tools to enhance speed, creativity, and efficiency in video production.
  • Create engaging reels, shorts, and promotional videos using trending formats, hooks, and transitions.
  • Add motion graphics, text animations, sound effects, and visual elements to enhance storytelling.
  • Edit podcast and interview videos with clean cuts, captions, and dynamic layouts.
  • Design video thumbnails and basic visual assets aligned with brand guidelines.
  • Maintain consistency in video style, branding, and visual quality across all content.
  • Optimize videos for different platforms (aspect ratios, durations, formats).
  • Stay updated with the latest video editing trends, AI tools, and emerging technologies.
  • Collaborate with designers, marketers, and content teams to execute campaign ideas.
  • Perform quality checks and revisions before final delivery.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, CapCut Pro, DaVinci Resolve and Ai tools.
  • Hands on experience with AI video editing tools such as Runway, Descript, Pictory, Wisecut, VEED, Opus Clip, or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of video storytelling, pacing, and audience engagement.
  • Experience with motion graphics, subtitles, captions, and basic animations.
  • Knowledge of audio editing, sound effects, and background music syncing.
  • Ability to create platform specific content for reels, shorts, and ads.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects independently.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills.

AI & New Technology Skills (Preferred)

  • Experience using AI tools for auto captions, background removal, smart cuts, and scene detection.
  • Familiarity with AI voiceovers, text to video, image to video and video enhancement tools.
  • Understanding of data driven content optimization (retention, hooks, watch time).
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new AI tools and evolving video technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in digital marketing, social media content creation, or agency environment.
  • Basic knowledge of scripting, storyboarding, or content planning.
  • Familiarity with YouTube Studio, Meta Ads, or platform analytics is a plus.
  • Knowledge of thumbnail design and basic graphic design tools is advantageous.
