Job Summary

  • The Vice President, Global Spa & Wellness serves as the visionary leader and chief strategist responsible for creating and executing the holistic wellness strategy across each of Marriott International's luxury brands.
  • This senior executive is responsible for defining a global vision and long range strategic plan for all wellness offerings, encompassing traditional spa services as well as integrated, holistic programs.
  • The ideal candidate will possess extensive hands on experience in luxury spa and wellness operations, have their finger on the pulse of evolving global wellness trends, and the ability to manage by influence for C suite executives.
  • This position requires a significant amount of global travel. This role reports to the SVP Global Operations.

Education And Experience

  • Required: A 4 year bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a related field.
  • Required: Direct and extensive experience in the spa and wellness disciplines for luxury hotel brands.
  • Required: 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in wellness hospitality, with a significant portion in multi property or multi brand operations.
  • Required: Proven experience in a senior leadership role with global or enterprise wide accountability.
  • Required: Demonstrated success in developing and implementing comprehensive, holistic wellness programs.
  • Required: Proven track record of creating and executing innovative spa and wellness concepts that drive both guest satisfaction and commercial success.
  • Required: Experience managing large, complex projects from ideation to implementation.
  • Required: A strong background in leading a global team, with experience managing diverse, cross cultural teams across multiple geographies.
  • Preferred: A master’s degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, or a related field.
  • Preferred: Experience leading large scale organizational transformations and change management initiatives.
  • Preferred: Exposure to/participation in brand and “go to market” strategy development within the luxury environment.
  • Preferred: An extensive network of relationships with leading wellness brands, industry experts, and third party vendors.

Core Work Activities & Key Responsibilities

  • Defines and implements brand specific global spa and wellness visions that differentiate each of the brands in the luxury portfolio.
  • Owns the long range strategic plan for the wellness and spa portfolio, ensuring alignment with company goals and brand standards.
  • Champions a culture of continuous innovation by researching and translating global trends into actionable strategies.
  • Identifies, vets, and pursues new business opportunities and strategic partnerships that drive revenue and enhance brand positioning.
  • Serves as the executive brand ambassador, articulating the value proposition of wellness and spa to all stakeholders.
  • Partners with senior leadership to embed wellness into the broader luxury guest journey.
  • Sets the global vision for comprehensive, guest centric wellness offerings, including personalized and culturally relevant wellness journeys.
  • Directs the design, development, and roll out of new wellness and spa programs, ensuring scalability, profitability, and flawless execution.
  • Defines global standards and specifications for all wellness, fitness and spa facilities and services.
  • Supports spa and wellness operations across the global portfolio, ensuring consistency, profitability, and service excellence.
  • Builds, inspires, and mentors a global team of discipline experts in the field acting as a resource.
  • Regularly presents to and influences executive leadership on the strategic direction and performance of the portfolio.
