Role Overview
The Vice President of Events will own the full lifecycle of Orbis Global's events portfolio.
The role combines strategic event development with hands-on production, execution, and operational leadership.
The position will help build the events team's systems and playbooks as the company expands its calendar.
Conceptualization and Strategy
- Develop original event concepts, formats, and intellectual property across expos, summits, live entertainment, and sports.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify audience demand and market opportunities.
- Define the annual events calendar, including target markets, formats, and timing.
- Build business cases and P&Ls for new events using sponsorship, ticketing, exhibition, and licensing revenue models.
Organization and Planning
- Translate concepts into production plans covering venues, programs, speakers, talent, sponsors, and audience acquisition.
- Own timelines across multiple concurrent events and manage dependencies across marketing, sales, production, and finance.
- Negotiate and manage relationships with venues, production houses, talent agencies, contractors, and technology vendors.
- Establish scalable processes, budgeting frameworks, and governance for the events function.
Execution and Delivery
- Lead on-site execution for flagship events.
- Act as the final point of accountability for event delivery.
- Build the events organization's team, systems, and playbooks.
Requirements
- Experience combining strategic event leadership with hands-on operational delivery.
- Ability to develop event concepts, formats, and intellectual property across expos, summits, live entertainment, and sports.
- Experience with market research, competitive analysis, and audience demand assessment.
- Ability to build business cases and P&Ls for new events.
- Ability to build teams, systems, playbooks, scalable processes, budgeting frameworks, and governance.
