Viaduct Inspector (Rail)

Job Description

What You'll Be Doing

• Inspect site conditions to ensure suitability for the designed permanent works.
• Inspect viaduct construction sites, materials, workmanship, and structural components for compliance with plans, specifications, quality standards, and engineering requirements.
• Supervise construction activities against the project timeline and identify delays or deviations.
• Verify site adherence to safety protocols and procedures for worker and public safety.
• Analyze construction plans and specifications and inspect permanent and temporary works against approved methods and contract requirements.
• Maintain inspection and executed-work records, direct inspectors, and assist with measuring work completed.
• Assist with reviewing installation and as-built drawings, inspecting completed works, preparing snag lists, and handing over to the operating authority.
• Participate in site health and safety matters as directed by the Resident Engineer and project Safety Representative.

Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering with at least 4 years of related construction supervision experience.
• Alternatively, a diploma in civil or structural engineering with at least 7 years of related construction supervision experience.
• Construction inspection or supervision experience on infrastructure projects such as bridges or viaducts is necessary.
• Proficiency with surveying equipment, structural analysis software, and project management tools.

Desired Skills

• Related experience in Dubai, the UAE, or the GCC within an engineering consulting firm is preferred.
• Experience on a metro rail project is preferred.
• Knowledge and experience using computer software is desirable.
• Good oral and written communication skills, clear communication with management and staff, and commitment to safe work practices are desired.
