Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Triage incoming emergency veterinary patients and help identify patients requiring immediate attention
  • Obtain and document patient histories and vital signs
  • Safely restrain patients for examinations, diagnostics, and procedures
  • Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with diagnostics, treatments, and patient care
  • Prepare and dispense medications as directed
  • Monitor and support patients throughout their visit
  • Communicate with pet owners and provide compassionate, professional customer service
  • Demonstrate empathy and emotional intelligence when supporting clients during stressful or emotional situations
  • Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked treatment and patient care areas
  • Clean and sanitize equipment and hospital areas
  • Work collaboratively with veterinarians, veterinary technicians, assistants, and client service team members
  • Help maintain an efficient workflow in a fast-paced 24-hour emergency veterinary hospital
