Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist

Reception Duties

• Welcome clients and pets and perform clerical, reception, intake, and discharge duties.
• Schedule appointments, answer questions, and maintain front-office and exam-room flow.
• Relay information between clients and the medical team and send approved client communications.
• Maintain accurate client and patient information in PIMS.
• Track client and patient activity and support appointment and surgery fill-rate goals.
• Monitor supplies, identify missed fees, perform invoicing and cash reconciliation, and handle client conflict professionally.

• Kind, compassionate, responsible, adaptable, and creative approach to problem solving.
• Ability to work collaboratively and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to build and nurture relationships at all levels.
• Love for animals.
• Veterinary industry experience is preferred.

Workplace

• Work location is in person at the veterinary hospital in Thornhill, Ontario.

Compensation and Benefits

• Wage rate is $17.60 to $23.00 per hour, commensurate with skill set and experience.
