About the Role
Shoreview Veterinary is seeking a passionate and dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join its independently owned veterinary hospital in Toronto's Beach/Bluffs community.
The role supports client and pet care, appointment intake, clinic operations, and collaboration with veterinarians and registered veterinary technicians.
Role Responsibilities
- Start appointments for veterinarians and serve as an early point of contact for clients and pets.
- Provide exceptional customer service and support throughout the clinic experience.
- Work alongside veterinarians and registered veterinary technicians, including potential training in surgical assistance.
- Use practice management software and phone systems to support efficient clinic operations.
- Participate in twice-daily rounds and weekly staff meetings.
- Contribute ideas and collaborate with the team to help the clinic run smoothly.
Candidate Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar veterinary role.
- Ability to lift large dogs weighing up to 25 kg (50 lb).
- Broad computer knowledge, experience with multiple phone lines, and knowledge of veterinary terminology.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, learn quickly, and ask questions when needed.
