Venue Development Manager

Stakeholders and Governance

• Manage relationships with government authorities, developers, landlords, investors, operators, tenants, event organizers, and community stakeholders.
• Manage consultants, project managers, contractors, and specialist vendors against agreed scopes, budgets, schedules, and quality standards.
• Maintain project documentation, approvals, design records, cost reports, risk registers, and handover documentation.
• Prepare management reports covering project status, costs, risks, commercial performance, milestones, and development decisions.

Ideal Candidate

• Strong experience in venue development, real estate development, capital projects, hospitality development, sports facilities, entertainment venues, commercial property, or major infrastructure development.
• Experience managing projects from feasibility and concept through construction and opening.
• Strong knowledge of architectural, engineering, construction, operational, regulatory, and stakeholder interfaces.
• Experience with business cases, budgets, schedules, investment evaluations, procurement, contracts, and commercial negotiations.
• Experience with commissioning, handover, opening readiness, and post-launch optimization.

Candidate Capabilities

• Strong project-management, stakeholder-management, leadership, decision-making, analytical, problem-solving, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Understanding of venue planning, capacity, customer flows, event operations, back-of-house requirements, and commercial opportunities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, budgets, and deadlines with international and multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to quality, safety, sustainability, accessibility, security, and long-term asset performance.

Compliance and Commercial Knowledge

• Strong understanding of building regulations, fire safety, accessibility, security, and operational compliance.
• Commercial awareness and ability to identify opportunities involving hospitality, premium seating, sponsorship, retail, food and beverage, events, and ancillary services.
• Understanding of sustainable design, energy efficiency, resource management, smart-building systems, digital visitor experiences, and venue technologies.

Key Performance Indicators

• Performance is measured through schedule, capital expenditure, cost, design milestones, approvals, construction progress, quality, defects, contractor performance, risk, commissioning, and handover.
• Additional measures include venue capacity, utilization, event volume, attendance, revenue, customer satisfaction, safety, accessibility, energy efficiency, asset availability, and return on investment.

Work Arrangement
