About the Role
Qapin is seeking a Valves/Fittings/Piping Inspection Engineer for a China location (based in Abu Dhabi). The role requires strong quality control and inspection skills for valves, fittings, and piping systems in industrial projects.

Responsibilities
- Perform quality control and inspection of valves, fittings, and piping systems in industrial or infrastructure projects
- Witness and validate test procedures and results, including hydrostatic, pneumatic, functional, and leak tests
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, data sheets, and quality documentation
- Prepare reports and documentation on inspection findings
Requirements
- Strong Quality Control and Inspection skills, including experience with valves, fittings, and piping systems in industrial or infrastructure projects
- Solid Mechanical Engineering background, preferably with experience in piping, pressure equipment, and related international codes and standards
- Familiarity with Testing activities, such as hydrostatic, pneumatic, functional, and leak tests, and ability to witness and validate test procedures and results
- Basic understanding of Electrical Engineering interfaces (e.g., actuated valves, instrumentation connections) is an advantage
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline; relevant inspection certifications (e.g., API, ASME, ISO) are a plus
- Experience working with manufacturers, EPCs, or inspection agencies in the valves/piping domain, preferably in refinery, petrochemical, power, or similar sectors
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, data sheets, and quality documentation, including ITPs and WPS/PQRs
- Strong reporting, documentation, and communication skills, with proficiency in basic office and reporting tools
- Ability to work independently on site, manage time effectively, and collaborate with cross functional and multicultural teams
