The Utility Technician will operate various production machines such as the saw/shear, press, punch press, press brake, and other machines as required producing quality parts within allowable tolerances.

This role inspects parts with precision measuring tools to ensure the parts are within ISO 9001 specifications and standards.

This position will cross-train to other areas of manufacturing as needed such as warehouse, shipping, assembly, urethane, and steel room.

This position is a floating position and will backfill in departments who are short-handed, and may include working on an off shift.

• Operates machines such that Martin tools, products are produced according to established quality standards and timelines; produces Martin parts as requested by other departments including, but not limited to: Saws and shears materials to various sizes so that it can be welded, formed, punched, machined, etc. by other employees and/or departments. Reads and interprets blueprints, drawings and bills of materials to produce the required parts.

• Performs layout, setup and operation of machines (e.g., saws, shears, punch presses, press brake, deburring equipment, etc.) through the use of precision measurement tooling according to ISO 9001 standards.
• Coordinates plans with other operators regarding specific jobs and instructions.
• Assembles product components following procedures and drawings; uses tools and methods necessary to produce quality assemblies; performs soldering, wiring, plumbing, testing, brazing, etc. Assembles, installs aligns, fits, testes, and adjusts a variety of subassemblies and parts or auxiliary equipment in the final assembly of the product.
