About the Department

Position Duties

• Plans, develops, and maintain course curriculum to meet industry needs and to comply with all relevant rules and regulations of the commercial trucking industry. Conducts practical training consisting of primarily range and street training for Class A. Schedules and coordinates all components of CDL testing. Implement both classroom and practical training and evaluations for Class A operators. Requests and/or verifies motor vehicle registration history and Department of Transportation physical and drug screen prior enrollment. Help to provide and maintain adequate facilities, equipment, and materials used for training Coordinates any off-site or customized training for any contracted agency, business or industry Maintains accurate and confidential student/class records Maintains accurate maintenance and inspection records on training vehicles and equipment Meets with lead instructor on daily basis to discuss training activities Maintains good working relationships with business and industry advisory council Meet with lead instructor on daily basis to discuss training activities Conduct truck driving training activities Perform other duties as assigned
