Underground Supervisor/Foreman

KLS Earthworks & Environmental is seeking an experienced Underground Supervisor to join our Calgary-based team.

We’re looking for a strong field leader with hands-on experience in underground utilities and civil construction.

This role is responsible for leading crews in the safe and efficient installation of underground infrastructure while keeping projects moving, maintaining quality, and working closely with Operations Superintendents and project management.

• Lead and supervise underground crews on civil construction projects.
• Coordinate daily activities, manpower, equipment, and materials.
• Oversee installation of water, sanitary, storm, and related underground utilities.
• Read and interpret drawings, grades, specifications, and project requirements.
• Plan daily work and communicate priorities and expectations to the crew.
• Ensure installations meet project specifications, required elevations, and quality standards.
• Coordinate with operators, labourers, subcontractors, inspectors, and other site personnel.
• Identify potential issues in the field and work with the project team to find practical solutions.
• Monitor productivity and keep work progressing according to schedule.
• Complete required daily documentation and communicate project progress to site supervision.
• Promote and enforce safe work practices and KLS safety requirements.
• Mentor crew members and help build a productive, respectful team environment.
